Thanks to Joe Bongiorno, who first dragged me kicking and screaming into the mucky mythos of Swamp Thing, and to Paul Giachetti, who created the amazing header banner.

Thanks also to reader 'Alec Holland,' whose support has been invaluable; Mike Sterling, for promoting Swamp Thing and this site; and Kevin Church, for his excellent optimization advice.

And thanks to Len Wein, Bernie Wrightson, Alan Moore, John Totelben, Stephen Bissette, Jamie Delano, Garth Ennis and all the other creators whose work inspired this site.

Swamp Thing Meets Plastic Man... Is the Rumor Too Much of a Stretch?
by Rich Handley
June 9, 2010

Ethan Van Sciver to draw Swamp Thing meets Plastic Man?BleedingCool.com is reporting that with Swamp Thing returning to mainstream DC continuity (which he never really left), his first reappearance will be in an upcoming Plastic Man series by artist Ethan Van Sciver, known for his work on Superman/Batman, Impulse, Justice League of America, New X-Men, Green Lantern and The Flash: Rebirth.

No details have yet emerged, though Van Sciver himself posted the following comment in response: "This is fantastically incorrect, for like 5 different reasons! Unless it's a joke....?" That would seem to cast doubt on the validity of BleedingCool's "impeccable, high placed source," or it could be an attempt to downplay the news until an official announcement is made.

The weird part? Although the story's headline reads "Swamp Thing to Hit Ethan Van Sciver’s Plastic Man First," the filename is "swamp-thing-to-hit-green-lantern-first." A simple mistake in file-naming, perhaps, or an indication that BleedingCool has heard word of a Swamp Thing/Green Lantern crossover? Stay tuned.

In the meantime, please enjoy my embarrassing attempt at PhotoShoppery...
