Vertigo Editors Terminated by Rich Handley *Sept. 29, 2010* The Beat reports that three editors at Vertigo Comics have been laid off, and Comic Book Resources indicates that more terminations are yet to come as parent company DC Comics undergoes restructuring. According to The Beat, Pornsak Pichetshote, Jonathan Vankin and Joan Hilty were all laid off this week. Hilty brought Brian Vaughan into the pages of Swamp Thing, while Vankin edited Hellblazer some years back. All three editors are extremely talented, and so fans and industry veterans alike are lamenting their termination across the Web. Given recent headlines regarding Vertigo characters returning to DC's mainstream mythos, could this mark the beginning of the end for the once-proud imprint? Archived News >
